2017 in Reflection

Knowledge is power! We all can agree on that.  But not everyone's idea of knowledge is the same. Like for one who has aspirations to go beyond what his or her family has accomplished to a doctorate and for someone who understands their struggles with testing may decide to open a business accentuating their skill set.  But it's never too late to start learning anything! And with all of that we cannot and should not compare ourselves to others.  

Last week I was part of a networking event and upon my first exchange of a business card, I met an attendee who proceeded to give me their entire resume from grade school.  Yeah, you could imagine my face and my left leg shaking with anticipation to exit stage left.  Now that was balled up in a great script which meant nothing to me and all to the orator.  I was lost in the exchange leaving me as a casualty of the viciousness of divorce in the "war of the roses" movie.  

You see, some humans always accomplish stepping stones in life because someone else did it, or it will make more money, or nobody has never done it before, attitude.  Yet with little motivation, no plan and a locked and loaded defensive attitude, they believe it is God designed.  "This is my purpose", as they pompously say.  But is it?

Gaining knowledge is really important regardless of age, race, language or religion!  yet it has to be obtained with the right intention.  If we are religious, we read stories of those that followed Jesus and John and God, who were men and women of knowledge and who were educated.  But when the real aspects of life got to them, a spiritual lesson had to be learned and then they went back to doing what they were educated to do.  What were they taught?
