5 Things Hindering Your Growth In Life

Back when we were kids, we knew what we wanted to do when
we grew up.

There’s the usual slew of wanting to be doctors, lawyers,
scientists, astronauts, etc. Some of us got to follow through
with those childhood dreams while the rest are living a life
that’s not quite what they want it to be.

So for those still figuring out how to start living the life they
want, you might want to look out for these signs that are
hindering you from going after your happiness.

Dishonesty is Not a Policy

When has hiding something or denying a truth done
something good for you? Never. It always backfires or
finds its way somehow to surface.

Expending energy trying to live a life other than an honest
one is a waste of both your energy and your life.

The sooner you can grow into your own truth, to live with as
little hypocrisy or lies that you can, the happier you would
become. After all, this is your life.

As long as you’re not trampling on other people to get what
you want out of it, then you have as much right to live your
life according to your own standards.

Information is Power

Of course, we have to be discerning what kind of information
we absorb, but the bottom line is that we need to learn about
new things in order to evolve, in order to update our ideas,
in order to open up new avenues in our life.

Don’t be content with the things you already know.

There are thousands of things that are discovered, disproved,
changed on a daily basis and it could contribute to the bettering
of your life.

Wouldn’t that be something you’re interested in? It should be!

You won’t know if there’s a new technology or new trend that will
allow you to work the job of your dreams without the hindrances
that were once there like distance, time, geography, etc.

Always be on the lookout for how to bring you closer to the life
you imagine.

Success is hard work and inspiration

If you’ve read enough quotes and memes, you’ll know this by heart.

If you do anything without any passion, eventually you’ll tire of it
and find yourself feeling spent and that your time was wasted.

Cut to the chase and find what it is that you’re really passionate about!

Don’t underestimate the power of waking up every day knowing that
you’re about to work at a job that you like or that you wake up knowing
that you’re there because of choice, not anything else like “practicality”.

To pursue your passions is the most practical thing to do. It saves
your time and energy in the long run.

Spending Unnecessarily

Whether you’re spending money on a lifestyle you can’t afford or
time on trivial pursuits like watching too much TV, playing video
games, gluttonous eating/drinking, or spending energy on dealing
with people who drain you dry like those who don’t support your
dreams, those who continuously put you down, those who make
you feel anything less than you deserve—you are wasting valuable
resources.

You need to be able to cut your losses, especially those that seem
too hard to give up, like your friendships.

If they aren’t helping you, they probably are dragging you down or
slower.

Unhealthy Habits

Much of what we do or want to do require us to be fit.

Being fit does not necessarily just mean physically, but also in a
mental and emotional capacity.

Everything is connected.

If your state of mind is cluttered, then it prevents you from feeling
happy about what you do, and when you’re not happy, it makes
you sluggish and unable to perform your tasks properly, when that
happens, your state of mind is affected again.

It’s a cycle.

So you need to work hard to keep all those aspects in tip-top shape.
