Find Your Power In Your Problems

Image
Life is a series of problem-solving opportunities. The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you - depending on how you respond to them. Unfortunately, most people fail to see how God/The Higher Power/ Goddess/ The Universe wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly after they've created the problem with hopes The Omniscient will fix it for them rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring to themselves if they find a solution for the choice they made. Firstly, not all problems are mistakes out of choice.  When you embark into this world alone to figure out your journey you will make some mistakes, but when that same mistake is repeated over and over again, it then becomes a choice.  And it is with that choice The Omnipotent uses to DIRECT you - Problems often point us in a new direction to pay attention and motivate us to change.  Do I need pay attention? Lessons from my Second Chance

Image
Since the recovery of my motor vehicle accident, I decided to take this second chance that life gave me with both hands. I was determined to live my life to its fullest and share my gifts with the world. I had (and still have) many coaches and learned from numerous mentors. The expansion and growth within myself, are something that I treasure enormously. I realize at a very deep level that the only premise to change your life, to live freely and create the life you have always dreamed of, is to change your own beliefs, to change your mindset and to raise your awareness. These are the signs which are the most prominent for me when a person starts to grow: 1. I don’t sweat the small stuff any longer Since I realized how precious life is, how quickly things can turn around, I don’t worry anymore about the small stuff. Will the laundry be done in time? Will the neighbors talk about my husband leaving? What will my colleague think exactly abilities now? You know at the end...

Memories of Parenthood

It is really common for survivors of sexual abuse to remember or have flashbacks of the sexual abuse when they become parents.  When I became a new mother, I was prepared for a great deal, but nobody told me that breastfeeding my baby would trigger me. At times when I was nursing my baby, I felt like I was walking back into a war zone as a soldier with PTSD. I recognized that basic acts of parenting triggered me such as nurturing, bathing and kissing my children.  Sometimes I even wondered if I was intruding on their space or if I was going to turn out like my perpetrator. These were the consequences or not having therapy or a support system that could have helped me with these feelings. These feelings disconnected me from my children and the results are that my first four children are not close to me. The rapes that I suffered at the hands of my father has been by far worse than the rapes I endured when I was trafficked. My father betrayed my love and trust in him. The ...

Be real: It's always better to be yourself!

It’s Always Better To Be Yourself Are you comfortable being yourself in all situations? If you’re like most people, you’re 90% yourself when you’re with close friends, 50% yourself with casual acquaintances, and hide from strangers.  Being your true self in all settings and situations is scary, but ultimately empowering and relaxing.  Imagine the relief you’ll experience. You no longer have to worry about the perceptions of others. You can just be yourself and feel satisfied with that. Be Yourself And Take Back Control Of Your Life: 1.  Meditate.   Meditation  quiets the part of you that judges and labels everything around you. Gain some insight into the real you by meditating regularly. 2.  Tell the truth.  When you’re truthful, you reveal yourself. Be honest about your mistakes and shortcomings. 3.  Be unique.  The true you isn’t exactly like everyone else. What music do you listen to when you’re alone? How do you dress? D...

If you really want to begin to think positively and change your life for the better, look at the following ways you can incorporate into your own lifestyle: 1.      Be responsible for your thoughts No one can tell you what to think or controls how you react to your thinking. When you plan or choose, to think positively, you won’t be as ...
